Systems Change Training – Oral Health Grantees

Access to dental services is a critical problem for many medically underserved individuals. Like many health care philanthropies, the Connecticut Health Foundation (CHF), the state’s largest foundation dedicated to improving the health of the people of Connecticut, was concerned about this issue. CHF, in an effort to assist low-income families to embark on a lifetime of good oral health and disease prevention, made oral health one of its grant making priority areas.

CHF’s major commitment to improving the oral health of Connecticut’s children included providing funding to oral health collaboratives across the state.  CHF also provided technical assistance to these grantees to strengthen their ability to achieve desired outcomes.

Consultants were hired to provide technical assistance in operational efficiency, targeted advocacy, and change management. Because of Millennia’s successful work with other philanthropies, CHF reached out to us to develop and facilitate a two-day training in systems change for the Foundation’s oral health grantees.
